General Manager - Retail

The General Manager (GM) is the strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing the end-to-end performance of the retail business. This includes managing production, supply chain, retail operations, sales, marketing, and financial performance across all outlets and manufacturing units. The GM ensures the company delivers high-quality products, maintains profitability, and grows market share in Angola and potentially in regional export markets

 Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning & Execution

• Develop and implement long-term business strategies aligned with company goals.
• Identify market opportunities and lead expansion into new regions or product lines.
• Drive innovation in product design, materials, and customer experience.

2. Stock Oversight

• Supervise procurement, planning, quality control, and storage operations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

3. Retail & Sales Management

• Oversee retail outlet operations, merchandising, and customer service.
• Set and monitor sales targets for each store and region.
• Lead pricing strategy and promotional planning.

4. Financial Management

• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Monitor cash flow, cost control, and profitability.
• Approve capital expenditures and vendor contracts.

5. Supply Chain & Inventory

• Manage procurement of raw materials and vendor relationships.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods to retail outlets.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels and reduce stock obsolescence.

6. Team Leadership & Development

• Recruit, train, and mentor department heads and store managers.
• Foster a high-performance culture with clear accountability.
• Conduct performance reviews and succession planning.

7. Customer & Market Focus

• Monitor customer satisfaction and implement improvements.
• Analyse market trends and competitor activity.
